Bedford sheriff’s office arrests Mexican man in abduction [Video]

A Mexican citizen was arrested in Bedford County on Monday and charged with abduction of a 15-year-old girl, according to a news release issued Tuesday from the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. 

Isauro Garcia Cruz faces charges on warrants from Butler County, Ohio, charging him with kidnapping and abduction, the release said. He also had pending warrants for aggravated sexual battery of a minor relating to a different incident. The release said Cruz is an undocumented Mexican citizen.

The girl was found in the 1200 block of Burnbridge Road in Forest on Monday. 

The arrest was the result of a joint investigative effort that began last week by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Lynchburg Police Department in assisting the Butler County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
