It’s lights, camera, action starting Friday at Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho.Their musical choice this year is a rendition of the famed horror comic Little Shop of Horrors. “It’s about a man-eating plant that spawned on a day of a total solar eclipse,” said Candy Padula, the school’s musical theater director.Padula chose this show after she learned that our region would be one of the prominent locations for this historical moment. “The first thing that came to my mind was ‘A total solar eclipse of the sun’ by Little Shops of Horrors,” Padula said.With the total solar eclipse set to occur Monday, right after their weekend of shows, Padula felt that was a clear sign.She’s been involved in the school’s theater department for more than 20 years.In that time, Padula has invited familiar Vermont faces to make surprise cameos.This year, with some encouragement from her husband, who is …
