Nigeria Trails Libya as March Crude Production Falls to 1.23 Million Barrels Per Day

Libya has taken over Nigeria as the biggest oil producer in Africa producing an average higher figure of 1.236 million bpd, that’s a 5,000 barrel difference, becoming the largest oil producer in Africa for March 2024.

According to the latest data from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries monthly oil market report, Nigeria’s crude oil production for March dropped to 1.23 million barrels per day in March from 1.32 million barrels per day in February 2024.
The 92,000 per-day decline recorded in March brings the total loss for the two months to about 196, 000 barrels per day.
The report says Saudi Arabia maintained its position as the biggest oil producer among OPEC member countries with an average daily production of 8.97 million barrels per day, a drop of 39,000 barrels, followed by Iraq with 3.9 million and the United Arab Emirates with 2.91 million barrels daily.
