HONOLULU (Island News) — Many people on Oahu are taking to social media saying they have reported seeing dogs and pigs being hit by vehicles. And the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Environmental Services seems to confirm that, saying the number of requests for roadkill clean ups have increased.
In 2022, about 160 roadkill clean ups were made. But in 2023, the number jumped to more than 260. As for cleanup requests from resident, the Department of Environmental Services says that number has nearly doubled.
