Water Shortage Hits Katsina City And Environs

Perennial water scarcity has hit Katsina city and it’s environs subjecting residents to prolonged difficulties in getting water.

Residents have been battling with the acute water shortages due to supply from Ajiwa waterworks and electricity to power boreholes in the ancient city and environs.

The population of Katsina Metropolis in 2023 stands at 524,000 showing an increase of 3.76 percent from 2022 estimate which in contrast indicates that over half of the people are depending on boreholes for drinking water and other domestic purposes.
