Offshore wind conference features tour of Avondale Global Gateway [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Thousands of energy experts from around the globe are in New Orleans this week for the country’s largest offshore wind conference which begins Monday (April 22) and lasts through Thursday (April 25).

Busloads of folks took a tour of Avondale Global Gateway on Monday afternoon as Louisiana becomes an integral part of the growing industry.

“Louisiana’s got a long history in being energy industry pioneers. Especially with oil and gas,” said James Martin, CEO of Gulf Wind Technology. “America does a lot of onshore wind. It has a lot of energy infrastructure, but offshore wind is new to town. So, it’s about collaborating, partnerships, bringing the expertise in and also showcasing what expertise is already here to accelerate this interesting industry.”
