Two ruptured pipelines are believed to have caused fire in Ward County [Video]

WARD COUNTY, Texas — The Ward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the fire has now been contained as of 11:45 a.m. and that the fire is believed to have been caused by two different explosions that happened.

NewsWest 9 was informed by Captain Ozuna with the Ward County Sheriff’s Department that a pipeline ruptured, and this caused a second pipeline to rupture.

No injuries were reported. 

The fire departments involved are waiting for the gas to “bleed out” before they start to spray water. 

NewsWest 9 has learned that the fire is in the area of Mile Marker 57 on I-20 in the area of Pyote, Texas.
