August 30, in the Spanish city of La Bisbal d’Emporda (Girona), an abnormal hailstorm with a diameter of more than 10 cm fell.
1.5 people died as a result of a natural disaster
The child was the first hail victim in Europe since 1997, writes Elmundo.
According to Girona City Council sources, the child was hit on the head with an ice ball. The girl was hospitalized, but, unfortunately, she died on the morning of August 31.
The element also caused serious damage to vehicles, roofs and city furniture.
