WASHINGTON (TND) — The back-and-forth battle over how your money can and should be invested is coming to a head on Capitol Hill. On the House floor Tuesday, lawmakers debated a bill to block a rule set forth by the Biden administration that deals with investing.
“He’s at it again. President Biden’s war on American energy continues,” said Rep. Aaron Bean, R-Fla.
“You all talk a good game about how government should not be picking winners and losers. Why do you keep picking losers?” said Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill.
President Joe Biden is expected to veto a bill passed both in the Senate and the House that blocks a rule his administration enacted that allows money managers to consider climate change and other environmental, social and governance factors — also known as ESG — when making financial investments on behalf of clients.
