Brewer is seeking volunteers for 20th Ken Locke Annual Stream Clean-up [Video]

BREWER, Maine (WABI) – The City of Brewer is looking for some help.

That’s because the 20th Ken Locke Annual Stream Clean-up is back on Saturday May 18th.

While it is in May, registration for the event is due by April 26th.

They say that in previous years that they have removed literal tons of trash from areas in and around streams and the Penobscot River.

The event kicks off at 8 A.M. sharp at the Joe Ferris Community Center and should wrap up around noon.

”We’ve been doing this for 20 years now. It’s an event that helps keep the waterways in this municipality clean, the streams, the river. We have had many volunteers in the past. We’re hoping to have a lot of them this year being the 20th event.” said Lou Colburn, the event’s organizer.
