Greenpeace activists painted the side of a ship near the site of a proposed new natural gas pipeline with the words, ‘No New Gas.’ The German government has fast-tracked natural gas infrastructure in efforts to stop its dependence on imported Russian natural gas, despite the country’s climate pledges.
The pipeline would be located in the Baltic Sea off the island of Rügen, a tourist destination.
