Crews battled brush fire near Belpre [Video]

BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) – According to Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks, they received a call around 2:35 p.m. for a brush fire that was out of control on the 600 block of Mill Branch Road.

Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Chief Mike Chevalier said the fire started as a legal burn that spread when winds picked up, and burnt about two acres.

The fire was under control and crews were wrapping up at about 4:15 p.m. according to Chief Chevalier.

No injuries were reported due to the fire.

Agencies that responded include Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), Belpre VFD, and Dunham Township VFD.
