Eastman receives TOSHA safety & health award [Video]

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – Eastman Chemical Company’s Kingsport operation was recognized by the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) Tuesday.

According to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, TOSHA’s Volunteer STAR Award was presented to Eastman because of the company’s safety and health programming and performance.

A TOSHA representative presented the award Tuesday morning to Eastman leadership.

Michelle Caveness, vice president and site leader of Eastman Tennessee Operations, accepted the Volunteer STAR Award.

“I think the commitment to safety, wellness and the health of our site and community is what this really represents,” Caveness said. “It’s a lot of work across our employee base and that extends to our community.”

Caveness said Eastman hopes to keep raising the bar in terms of employer standards.
