Everyone charges their phone overnight, but tech experts say charging your phone overnight may not be good for the battery. Sue Thomas shared this information during Tuesday’s edition of Sue’s News on The Mark Reardon Show.
“Even though modern phones charge in a smart way, they still keep the battery warmer than room temperature through the night, and that is bad for the battery over time,” Sue explained.
To get the most out of a battery and extend the life of your phone, this is what’s recommended: Charge it for about 30-45 minutes in the morning, then another 30 minutes in the mid afternoon to about 80%. This way, your phone is spending less than 2 hours a day charging, and hopefully increasing the lifespan of the overall phone.
