AAA says that we could see gas prices remain relatively flat ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The national average for gas has gone down 3 cents from last Monday, putting the price at the pump to $3.62.
One year ago, the price was $3.54. The New York State average is $3.72, down one cent from one week ago. One year ago, the NYS average was also $3.67. AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) reports the following averages:
- Batavia – $3.63 (no change from last Monday)
- Buffalo – $3.66 (up 1 cent from last Monday)
- Elmira – $3.60 (down 4 cents from last Monday)
- Ithaca – $3.70 (no change from last Monday)
- Rochester – $3.69 (no change from last Monday)
- Rome – $3.75 (no change from last Monday)
- Syracuse – $3.69 (down 1 cent from last Monday)
- Watertown – $3.76 (down 1 cent from last Monday)
In April there was a big rise in gas prices but the month of May has seen a decrease.
