‘Generational issue’: Steve Price breaks down nuclear debate

Sky News host Steve Price breaks down the nuclear debate in Australia as both major parties present opposing arguments.

The Coalition is set to unveil a policy to build large-scale nuclear reactors on the sites of former coal-fired power stations.

“No ifs, no buts because the Coalition under Peter Dutton and his team have crossed that Rubicon that no previous Coalition government has been game enough to do, and at the same time, the Labor government under Anthony Albanese have picked their side,” Mr Price said.

“No nuclear and massive taxpayer investment in renewable energy and a gamble that technology will deliver some silver bullet and catch up sometime soon to offer renewables other than the sun and wind.

“Black and white really, one side the Coalition wants the complete energy package – some old coal, plenty of gas, a bit of wind and solar and the final piece in the jigsaw: nuclear power.”
