Gibby is back on the Surprise Squad, helping folks get some free gas [Video]

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Gas prices have been creeping back up again in recent weeks, and they’re only going to get higher as we head into spring.

AAA says the national average is $3.53 a gallon, up 27 cents since last month. Here locally, gas is up about 38 cents since last month, for an average of $3.79 a gallon. That’s exactly why Arizona’s Family’s Gibby Parra and Arizona’s Family Surprise Squad went to a Fry’s Fuel Center in Glendale to pick up the tab for some lucky drivers.

Gibby first approached a man who had just pulled up. When Gibby said he was going to fill up his tank, the man said it would be helpful because he was about to drive to the other side of town for a medical appointment.

Gibby then found a man named Troy driving a large truck. Troy said it typically takes $100 to fill up …
