‘Green ideology’: Labor and Andrew Forrest putting cheap, reliable energy ‘at risk’

Nationals Senate Leader Bridget McKenzie has criticised Andrew Forrest for “espousing his green ideology”, which, along with the Labor Party’s policies, has put cheap, reliable energy “at risk”.

Andrew Forrest has blasted the Nationals for ‘betraying the bush’ by offering false hope with a power source that is four to move fives more expensive than renewables.

“I think Twiggy doesn’t let his emotions get in the way of making money,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny.

“This guy is in receipt of tens of millions of dollars of Australian taxpayer subsidies in order to create green hydrogen.

“He needs to declare that conflict of interest before he starts espousing his green ideology.

“The reality is, as you know, we are a rich and wealthy country because of our natural resources – coal, gas and uranium – but also that we’ve had access to cheap, reliable energy for so long, and that is all at risk now under the Labor Party’s policies.”
