Hallsville School District will get new security cameras | Mid-Missouri News [Video]

HALLSVILLE — The Hallsville Board of Education voted Wednesday to approve the expansion of the district’s security camera system.

The expansion, coming in at a cost of $49,985, will add 47 new cameras to schools across four of the district’s buildings. 

Hallsville School District Communications Director Kari Yeagy emphasized the role of security in a healthy learning environment. 

”We’re here to educate kids and make sure it’s done in an environment that’s safe and caring,” Yeagy said. “One way to do that is to be able to provide cameras so we can see everything that happens.”

The addition of the cameras will be covered by a $150,000 grant the district received from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, to invest in school safety. 

“We were really excited that we received the $150,000 grant,” Yeagy said.
