Mayor Lucas invites New York City migrants to work in Kansas City, per report [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – “All are welcome in Kansas City.”

Those were the words of Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas Tuesday afternoon following a Bloomberg report that he is offering migrants wanting to leave New York City’s shelters to work in the Midwest.

The report cites major projects in the area like the Panasonic battery plant and the Meta data center facility as projects that are expected to bring thousands of jobs to the area.

“We need a lot more employees,” Lucas told Bloomberg. “If there are people who are willing and ready to work, then I believe that there could be a place for them.”
