Opening of three-storey brewery in former Franco Cozzo building delayed by council [Video]

Moon Dog Wild West was set to open with a launch party for media and VIPs last night, but was cancelled 10 minutes before it was due to begin after Maribyrnong City Council refused to issue a fire safety permit.

Moon Dog Co-Founder Karl van Buuren said it was “bitterly disappointing” to receive the notice.

The team had received the news that the location of a fire hydrant in the venue was no “longer suitable” late yesterday afternoon.

“We are so sorry to everyone that turned up last night excited to check out our amazing new venue, but instead were turned away,” van Buuren said.
