P.E.I. gas price jumps up almost 6 cents after weekly review [Video]

The price of gas is up on P.E.I. Friday morning, but prices for other fuels in the province were all down.

That was the result of the regular weekly price review from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.

  • The minimum price of gas at the pump was up 5.7 cents to $1.70 per litre.
  • The minimum price of diesel at the pump was down 3.5 cents to $1.91 per litre.
  • The maximum price for heating oil fell 2.1 cents to $1.41.

This is the third week in a row the price of gas has gone up. Gas prices have seen small increases and decreases all year, but the recent trend is moving the arrow upward.

Prices are now about 15 cents per litre higher than they were at the beginning of the year.
