Summit pipeline denied by Stanton County Board of Commissioners [Video]

STANTON CO, Neb (KTIV) – Leaders in one northeast Nebraska county have denied a permit necessary for Summit Carbon Solutions to build its carbon capture pipeline.

By unanimous vote, the Stanton County Board of Commissioners denied Summit a “conditional use permit” for its pipeline.

Commissioner Doug Huttman told KTIV his constituents didn’t want the pipeline. Huttman says he didn’t get one instance for approval from voters.

Summit’s pipeline is mapped for just over 8 miles of land through Stanton County. It is seeking a permit for 687 miles of pipeline through Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
