The Vermont Senate is debating a bill that could add a 70 cent or more carbon tax to home heating fuels like oil, propane, kerosene and natural gas. Dealers say their customers can’t afford that kind of price hike, and if the bill becomes law, it could drive them out of business — leaving customers in the cold.
