Tornado warnings in Quebec and Ontario: Environment Canada [Video]

Several tornado warnings have been issued in Ontario and Quebec amid severe thunderstorms.

“This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” reads a warning from Environment Canada. “If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.”

There is currently one tornado warning in Quebec, while 29 areas in Quebec and Ontario are under tornado watches. Power outages, downed trees and damage have been reported.

  • Environment Canada has issued warnings over severe thunderstorms that are possibly producing tornadoes
  • The current warning covers the Parent area in Quebec
  • At least one potential tornado has been detected by Doppler radar in Quebec nearly 12 km north of Oskélanéo and moving east at approximately 50 km/h
