Tornado Watch canceled for Kansas City metro area [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A significant portion of the Kansas City area is no longer under a Tornado Watch.

The National Weather Service stated that Cooper, Saline, Howard, Pettis, Saline, Chariton, Randolph, Linn, Macon, Adair and Sullivan were under the Tornado Watch until Tuesday at 6 p.m.

EARLIER: At 12:47 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Grain Valley and moving east at 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Among the locations impacted are: Grain Valley, Richmond, Lexington, Buckner, Orrick, Wellington, Hardin, Henrietta, Levasy, Woods Heights, Rayville, Napoleon, Bates City, Camden, and Fleming.

This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 24 and 34.

According to Evergy, there are widespread power outages throughout the metro, the majority affecting the northland. As of 11:20 a.m., more than 6,700 customers are without power in the metro but that number is consistently fluctuating. For the latest information check out …
