What the BBB says to look out for when choosing a contractor after a natural disaster | News [Video]

It’s springtime in Oklahoma and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) says you need to be aware of certain contractors looking to take advantage of natural disasters.

This spring, there are two types of storm chasers.

The ones who come before the storm and track it.

And then the ones who come afterwards, and they couldn’t care less what came down from the sky.

“Every storm season we see a bunch of contractors legitimate and not to help consumers clean up. The problem is some are legitimate and some are not,” said Amie Mitchell, CEO of the BBB of Eastern Oklahoma.

Mitchell said the BBB sees throughout the year, but especially in the spring, people who chase after storm damage.

These people in many cases are not licensed or bonded, and in many cases, they pop up right after a storm offering to do work super cheap.
