Windy Tuesday before severe storm threat on Wednesday [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Tuesday will be windy and warm before a severe threat midweek.

Highs reach the low 80s with a passing shower possible and a strong wind from the south. A wind advisory is in effect as gusts could reach up to 40 miles per hour.

We are giving the First Alert for a strong storm system moving into our area on Wednesday morning. The North Shore is included in a level 4 of 5 risk for severe storms, with a hatched tornado risk for most of the area. This means a strong tornado EF 2+ will be possible.

Isolated supercells ahead of a squall line in the late morning bring a tornado and damaging wind threat. Embedded in the squall line, swaths of damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, and flooding rain will be possible. Rain totals from 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher totals could lead to …
