Winter weather remains a factor in April [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage could see some snowfall late Thursday, and the city is currently 2.8 inches away from setting a snowfall record for the season.

Winds will also pick up over the city, especially for locations along Cook Inlet to higher-elevation areas in Anchorage and Eagle River.

Turnagain Pass is likely to see snow, as is Thompson Pass. The snow and wind will create difficult travel conditions through Friday.

For the northern Susitna Valley, a winter weather advisory calls for heavy snow – between nine and 12 inches – around Broad Pass. After the snowfall tonight and early Friday, sunny breaks will follow.
