A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Gogglebox star George Gilbey, who fell to his death at a warehouse where he was working yesterday. 

George, 40, who was once a regular on the Channel 4 programme, died after plunging 35ft from the building in Shoebury, near Southend-on-Sea, Essex. 

Today Essex Police announced that a man in his 40s had been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the tragic incident. 

He was an electrician with more than ten years experience, according to his Linkedin entry, and he had ambitions to work in the off-shore wind turbine sector. 

Police confirmed that George fell and sustained an injury at around 10am on Wednesday. Despite ambulance crews and air ambulances rushing to the scene, the Gogglebox star did not survive.
