CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – Authorities said a man made unwanted sexual advances on a woman and when rejected pulled out a knife and cut her and her vehicle’s tires.

Elijah Singleton, Jr. was charged with assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and malicious injury to property, according to arrest affidavits.

Affidavits state Singleton made advances toward the victim just before 11 p.m. while they were at a bar on Mauss Hill Road by grabbing her and kissing her on the neck.

The woman pushed Singleton off of her before Singleton pulled out a knife and cut her on her left eyebrow, affidavits state.

Affidavits state the woman attempted to leave in her SUV but Singleton slashed the front tires before climbing into the vehicle and continuing to threaten her.
