Pimpri Chinchwad near Pune, Maharashtra, has recently encountered a water crisis similar to the situation faced by Bengaluru.
It has been receiving less than 30 million liters per day (MLD) for the past month.
Several areas of Pimpri Chinchwad are facing a severe water crises as the stock in Andra dam have dropped over the past few days.
Municipal Corporation said it started a new initiative taking 30 MLD water from MIDC instead of the previous 35 MLD due to the shortage from Andhra Dam.
The situation in Pimpri Chinchwad necessitates immediate action from local authorities, residents, and stakeholders to address the root causes of the water crisis.
However, after the water supply from Andhra Dam was affected, specifically from 40 to 45 MLD to less than 30 MLD.
This may promoting rainwater harvesting, and exploring alternative water sources to mitigate the impact of dwindling water levels.
