HONOLULU (KHON2) — Tonight, the weather conditions over the island chain are characterized by light and shifting winds, accompanied by low chances of showers along windward-facing coasts and mauka slopes. Other areas are expected to remain dry. This scenario sets the stage for a wet weather pattern across the region beginning Thursday.

Looking ahead, a weak cold front that is fast-moving is anticipated to cross the state from Thursday night through Friday. This front will bring thickening of clouds and a rise in shower chances spanning from northwest to southeast. The focus of higher rain chances and increased rainfall amounts will primarily be along the windward north and east-facing slopes and coasts.
