Appellate court denies appeal by Pekin father to be released before murder trial [Video]

PEKIN (25News Now) – An appellate court has denied the appeal of a Pekin father who wants released from jail before he’s tried for his infant daughter’s death last November.

Hunter Waters is charged with first degree murder and aggravated battery in the death of his nine-week-old daughter Addison.

Tazewell County Judge Christopher Doscotch ordered Waters jailed in December because of the violent nature of the crime.

The doctor who performed the autopsy on Addison said it took eight hours to identify and record all of the injuries to her body.

Some of the injuries include 12 broken ribs, a fractured left arm, a four-inch skull fracture exposing parts of her brain and pools of blood in her spinal column and cranial area.

The Fourth District Appellate Court agreed with Doscotch’s ruling to keep Waters in jail.
