Australia faces ‘Ideal opportunity’ for zero emissions power generation: Ted O’Brien [Video]

Coalition spokesman on climate and energy Ted O’Brien argues Australia has an “ideal opportunity” for zero emissions power generation.

The Coalition under Peter Dutton are set to outline a clear plan to inject nuclear into Australia’s energy mix.

“There’s an ideal opportunity for zero emissions plants,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny.

“The new stuff – the new and emerging technology, no one wants the stuff from the 1950s, the soviet era technologies.

“But, looking at small modular reactors, large reactors and the like to say well, okay, what role can they play in a balance of things moving forward.”
