Auto China staged its come back after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Industry insiders worldwide have returned to Beijing to check out the latest innovations in auto design and manufacturing. CGTN spoke to Mercedes-Benz on their thoughts on the Chinese market and the new energy sector.

Hubertus Troska, member of the board of management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG who is responsible for the Greater China market, said that China is by far the biggest market in the world, both for combustion as well as for new energy vehicle, so it’s a fascinating market. 

For Mercedes-Benz, China is the most important market in the world, Troska said, adding that the company’s biggest research and development center outside its headquarters and biggest plant in the world is in China.
