Ban on nuclear energy ‘holding Australia back’ [Video]

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the ban on nuclear energy is “holding Australia back”.

Mr Canavan said Australia has to “stop our own laws” from holding back the country.

“I think we’ve got to remove all of these bans,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.

The Nationals Senator’s comments come as the Labor government rules out support for nuclear energy.

The Coalition will outline its nuclear energy policy before the May budget, which is expected to include large-scale reactors.
