BBC star’s nature series axed after three years on screens as host pays tribute to fans with ‘final outing’ post [Video]

THE Climate Show, hosted by BBC Countryfile’s Tom Heap, has been axed by Sky News after nearly three years on air.

The work of Sky News correspondents both in the UK and around the world investigated issues surrounding changes in climate.

The once-daily programme had already been replaced with a half-hour weekly edition which aired every Saturday and Sunday.

In this weekend’s final programme, Tom said: “That is it for The Climate Show. This is our final outing.

“A huge thank you to the people who’ve given their time and their wisdom to appear on the show, the great production team and most of all – to you, for watching.”

The Countryfile journalist has been reporting on science and the environment for 25 years.

But presenting the weekly Climate Show on Sky was a nod to his roots …
