Amid a massive water crisis in Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has said the state government was warning residents of misuse of water tankers and that all the borewells of Bengaluru city were being taken over. Earlier on Saturday, Shivakumar informed that the private water tankers in Bengaluru would be taken over by the state government given the severe water shortage.
Meanwhile, the ongoing water crisis in the city has left apartments and gated communities framing several new regulations for the conservation of water. Some have even taken steps like the closure of pools and water pressure adjustment, and imposing a fine on residents for the misuse of drinking water.
