WILLOW GROVE, Pa. (KYW) – A 6-year-old boy born during the 2017 solar eclipse will be watching Monday as the moon once again passes between the Earth and the sun.
Carter Elkins’ special delivery came Aug. 21, 2017, during the last total solar eclipse in the United States. His mother, Erica Parsons, says she wasn’t thinking about the eclipse at all that day.
The birth happened six days late – just as the moon blocked the sun’s rays.
Nearly seven years later, Carter and his family are eagerly awaiting the solar eclipse Monday, saying it was good luck to have a baby during an eclipse.
But there’s no chance for two eclipse babies. Carter’s new little sister, Cora, was born March 8.
