Carbon Capture and Storage

🌱 Curious about how we can combat carbon emissions? Dive into the world of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) with us! We explore innovative solutions to capture CO2 emissions from industrial processes and power plants, revolutionizing the fight against climate change.
Note:
In recent news, the World Air Quality report revealed that several Indian cities dominate the top 10 ranking of the most polluted cities, with Delhi being the most polluted capital. In light of this, today’s video focuses on a decarbonisation technology that promises to be pivotal in India’s journey towards achieving net zero emissions: Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
Carbon capture technology is a unique method among various decarbonisation techniques. As the name suggests, this system captures and stores carbon from the atmosphere in either liquid or solid form.
Here’s how it works: Fast-moving air passes through an electrolytic filter containing carbon-absorbing solutions. These solutions absorb carbon, which can later be separated from the solution. The solution can be reused, while the separated carbon can be converted into solid or liquid form for injection into the earth. Additionally, this captured carbon can be utilized in various ways, such as fuel manufacturing, building materials, increasing crude oil production through injection into oil wells, and even in fertilizers.
A crucial component of this system is the absorbing material. Different companies utilize various absorbing materials, and there is ongoing research and development in this area. Particularly in India, numerous startups have emerged with a focus on carbon capture technology.
Carbon capture and storage are poised to play a significant role in India’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070. With its potential to mitigate carbon emissions across various sectors, CCS presents a promising pathway towards a more sustainable future.

Let’s start up together and make a positive impact on our planet! 🌍✨
