China-based EHang Holdings Limited is a significant player in this segment, receiving the type certificate from Chinese authorities for its EH216-S two-seater electric air taxi back in 2023.
The company has now partnered with Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology (GBT), specializing in ultra-fast charging, to develop the world’s first Ultra-Fast Charging (UFC) and eXtreme Fast Charging (XFC) battery solutions.
According to the firm, the partnership will look at the “development as well as the industrialization of eVTOL power system components and modules.”
