BEAVER COUNTY, Okla. (KAMR/KCIT) – The company that oversees the operation of the natural gas pipeline that ruptured and exploded in Beaver County on Tuesday night issued a statement to MyHighPlains.com on Wednesday about the incident and ensuing fire.
Phillips 66 said that the company was responding to the pipeline rupture and fire after it began at around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The company shut down the impacted section of the pipeline and said it completed its needed regulatory notifications.
After the fire was extinguished early Wednesday morning, said the company, there were no reported injuries associated with the fire “and no health threats to neighboring residences.” However, as of Wednesday afternoon, there was no confirmed cause for the rupture in the pipe that caused the explosion.
