DeKalb County Jail inmate death | Christon Devante Collins [Video]

DECATUR, Ga. — An inmate died while in custody at the DeKalb County Jail, according to the county’s sheriff’s office.

Deputies say 27-year-old Christon Devante Collins “experienced a medical emergency in his jail cell on March 13.”

The sheriff’s office adds that an on-site medical team responded and took Collins to the hospital, where he later died on March 15.

According to authorities, Collins had been in custody since Feb 4. He was charged with obstruction of law enforcement and simple battery against police.

Right now, authorities say Collins’s death is being investigated by the Office Of Professional Standards.
