Does Earth contain near-limitless clean fuel? ⛰️

The possibility that the Earth naturally generates large volumes of hydrogen has spurred a global hunt for what could be a major new source of clean energy, including efforts to stimulate hydrogen production by breaking up rocks deep underground.

For decades, Oman’s rocks have served as a paradise for geologists aiming to study the Earth’s interior up close. Now, these rocks, and others like them around the world, have come under new scrutiny as a potentially vast source of clean-burning hydrogen fuel, which may help to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels to halt climate change.
