Three candidates vying to represent Humboldt County’s 1st district outlined their priorities and opinions on several topics, including housing, offshore wind and the county’s dismal road conditions on Wednesday.
First District Supervisor Rex Bohn, the incumbent running for re-election, Coast Guard veteran Gordon Clatworthy and Fields Landing man Gerald McGuire fielded questions from the League of Women Voters.

Kicking off the forum, moderator Anne Hartline asked the candidates their stance on Measure A – a ballot initiative that would enact a slew of new regulations on cannabis farms – starting with McGuire, who said he didn’t know much about the initiative – arguably the most contentious issue on the Humboldt County ballot this election.
