CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Gas prices in South Carolina are continuing to surge amid the switch to summer blend gasoline and refinery maintenance, experts say.
Prices in the Palmetto State rose 11.8 cents over the past week to an average of $3.22 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of more than 3,000 stations in the state.
Prices in South Carolina are 22.8 cents higher than a month ago and 12.5 cents higher than one year ago.
The cheapest gas in the state was priced at $2.75 per gallon as of Monday morning while the most expensive was at $3.99, a difference of $1.24.
In the Tri-County, the cheapest gas was at a station in North Charleston selling gas for $3.09 per gallon.
