In the last two weeks, 14 people have died in house fires in the St. Louis Metro area.
That’s why the City of St. Louis Fire Department is sharing some life-saving safety reminders.
Captain Garon Mosby said to test your smoke alarms and replace the batteries if needed.
Make sure you and your family have a two-minute fire escape plan. Mosby said to have at least two ways to get out of your home, and pick out a meeting place once you’re outside.
