TAMPA, Fla. — Florida’s state average price for gas rose 10 cents Friday, days after it dropped by a few cents last weekend, according to a news release.
The state’s new 2024 high is $3.48, as gas prices continue to steadily rise due to a gasoline supply shortage, according to the release.
“Drivers may be in line for another round of rising prices after gasoline and crude oil futures rose to new 2024 highs last week,” AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins said.
Gasoline futures rose by 19 cents last week, which increased gas prices to their new high by 11 cents, officials added.
The price of crude oil also rose by 4% in the country last week due to worries over Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries, officials said.
