Forecast: Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with potential hazards | Weather [Video]

We are entering a very active weekend for potential strong storms. All severe weather hazards are on the table as multiple rounds of thunderstorms will move through mid-Missouri from Friday to Sunday. We will be in a Storm Mode Index of 2 for the weekend. This means there could be some issues and you’ll want to stay updated.

Thursday Evening

Passing showers are moving through the region. There are heavier bands of rainfall set up in southwestern Missouri, but in mid-MO we should see light to moderate drizzle. Some may hear a few rumbles of thunder, but this will generally stay below severe thresholds.

Friday Morning

The threat for potential severe weather will begin on Friday morning. 

Round 1 on Friday looks to be the least concerning of the rounds. There will likely be thunder, with a limited potential for small, pea-sized hail.
